It was a mixed week for us at SPX Option Trader. We ended this past week with +41% ROI in SPX Daily Outlook, +31% ROI in SPY Daily Outlook, -40% ROI in SPX Aggressive Trader, -52% ROI in SPY Aggressive Trader, +45% ROI in Late Day Trader, and -96% ROM in SPX Spread Trader.
Weeks like this are a good reminder that each strategy is managed differently and may respond differently depending on market conditions. The Daily Outlook finished positive this week, while the Aggressive Trader pulled back. That can happen because the two strategies are managed with different risk parameters. The Aggressive Trader gives trades more room to move, which can produce stronger gains in some weeks, but it can also lead to larger losses when the market does not continue in the forecast direction.
The Late Day Trader also finished positive this week, while the Spread Trader had a more difficult week. This is why we trade each strategy separately and do not expect every strategy to perform the same way every week. Some weeks favor directional trades. Other weeks favor spreads. Some weeks reward giving trades more room, while other weeks reward tighter management and quicker exits.
The key is not to chase whichever strategy performed best in the most recent week. The key is understanding how each strategy is designed, choosing the approach that fits your own risk tolerance, and staying consistent with it over time. Every strategy will have strong weeks and weaker weeks. What matters is applying the process consistently and allowing the long-term results to play out.
Overall, this was a mixed week, but it was also a normal part of trading SPX and SPY 0DTE options. We continue to focus on clear market forecasts, disciplined trade management, controlled risk, and no overnight positions.
