It was a mixed week for us at SPX Option Trader, with the Daily Outlook finishing positive despite limited trading opportunities. We ended the week with +20% ROI in SPX Daily Outlook, +15% ROI in SPY Daily Outlook, -28% ROI in SPX Aggressive Trader, -31% ROI in SPY Aggressive Trader, +0% ROI in Late Day Trader, and -106% ROM in SPX Spread Trader.
We traded only two days this week in the Daily Outlook and Aggressive Trader due to market conditions. Large gaps and elevated option pricing kept us out of the market on several days, and that is by design. Being successful in 0DTE option trading is not just about forecasting market direction. It is also about knowing when to trade and when to stay on the sidelines.
Not every market move creates a favorable trade. When options are too expensive, the risk-to-reward may not justify an entry, even if the market moves in the forecast direction. That is why we do not force trades just to be active. We trade when the forecast is clear and the setup fits our risk parameters.
Some weeks produce more activity. Other weeks, like this one, require patience. That is not unusual, and it is not a concern to us. Discipline, consistency, and patience have been hallmarks of our approach since 2016. We focus on taking the right trades, managing risk, and allowing the long-term results to take care of themselves.
