SPX Spread Trader Performance
The Spread Trader strategy focuses on selling SPX credit spreads on expiration day. By trading only on the day of expiration, we aim to capture time decay while managing risk with defined stop levels and updates posted in real time. The performance history below shows every completed Spread Trader trade since the strategy began in 2017. These are trades taken in real time, not backtested or simulated. Results are shown for both the full history since inception and the most recent 12-month period.
Recent results reflect current market conditions, while long-term results reflect performance across multiple market environments.
Performance Context
The most recent 12-month period reflected market conditions that were less favorable for this approach, producing performance below the long-term historical record. The strategy has also experienced occasional negative periods in prior years, which are part of normal variation over time.
