It was a slow but profitable week for us at SPX Option Trader.  We ended this past week with +42% ROI in our SPX weekly option trading, and +42% ROI in our SPY weekly option trading, and 0% in our SPX Spread Trader. Due to market conditions, we only had trades on 2 days this past week, which is highly unusual. We ended October with -29% ROI in our SPX weekly option trading, and -38% ROI in our SPY weekly option trading, and -14% ROM in our SPX Spread Trader. This month’s trading has been very unusual, not only that we were down slightly for the month, but we had a very large number of no trade days due to market activity. Skipping the trade all together due to the market running too far in the opposite direction is not common historically speaking.  For the year, before September 1st this had only happened 5 times. Then 3 times in September and 4 times in October, 3 of those this past week! Clearly an indication of recent volatility, and a reminder that this is not normal for us. But as we stay consistent in our approach and use the information provided in the SPX Daily Outlook, we are confident of better days ahead.  Below are our comments for each day of the week:
